This is Babalon, the true mistress of The Beast; of Her, all his mistresses on lower planes are but avatars,

–Aleister Crowley in The Vision and the Voice.

Babalon, also known as the Whore of Babylon or the Red Goddess, was a Shard created by Ayin alongside 666 (Trihexa) - her male counterpart and husband - for the sole purpose of triggering the end of all creation, and release the Primordial Entity from her prison.

Babalon was recorded in the Book of Revelation as one of the key figures who would appear in the Armageddon. It was prophesied that she would ride on the back of the Beast, drinking from a chalice that contains the blood of saints and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

She was regarded as the creator and Great Mother Goddess of the Devils - the bastard children and descendants of her with the original Demons, who were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

She was killed by the Kotoamatsukami during the final battle of Therion Valleys.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Human form[edit | edit source]

In her human form, Babalon appeared as a voluptuous woman in her early 30s - late 20s, with dark-colored skin and Near Eastern features. She had dark-purple eyes and hair, which was slightly curled and styled into a bun in the back of her head.

She wore a revealing attire, similar to that of a prostitute, consisted of a single red-orange piece of cloth around her neck that barely covered her well-endowed breasts, and a matching pareo around her waist that reached down to her ankles. She also went barefoot.

She wore various pieces of jewelry, such as golden bracelets, anklets, and necklaces, along with a crown at the top of her head, with several jewels in the center. Upon the small tiara-like crown, engraved the words -

- in the language of the Devils, similar to how Revelation 17:5 had described what was written on her forehead.

True form[edit | edit source]

In her true form, Babalon appeared as a colossal being that resembled a voluptuous and attractive woman, entirely nude and dressed in the recently-shed blood of the martyrs. Her skin was described to be as white as marble, with various cracks scattered across her seductive body. She radiated a violent aura the color of scarlet and purple.

Her scleras were jet-black while her irises were blood-red, from which blood would pour out and fell to the ground, creating a new group of Artificial Super Devils with each drop. Her head appeared noticeably bald with a glowing golden halo in the back of it, fashioned by her for the sole purpose of mocking the Angels.

With every footstep she made, she would create numerous kinds of precious metals and stones and pearls, all while holding a golden cup in her hand, full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.

Personality[edit | edit source]

She has turned her back on all things considered to hold value in this world and lives in depravity and degeneracy. Yet, in contrast, she extends her unconditional love and benevolence to those who are ridiculed and rejected from society as tainted.

–A quote about Babalon in the Devils' Bible

History[edit | edit source]

Sometimes prior to the events of the story, she and 666 were sealed within a secret chamber by the Abrahamic God, using most of his remaining power to put an end to his sister's way to achieve freedom.

When 666 was unsealed by Rizevim Livan Lucifer, Babalon was able to escape her former prison before anyone could detect her presence there, leading to the Son of Lucifer believing her to be dead, thus allowing her to buy more time and created plans to free both 666 and her creator Ayin.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Powers & Abilities[edit | edit source]

Becareful of the harlot, kids. My Father risked his life on the physical plane sealing that creature and the Beast of 666 together for a reason...

–Azazel warning Team DxD about Babalon

Immense Strength: As a Shard created by Ayin, Babalon possessed immense strength and could be considered one of the most powerful entities to ever appeared in the world, far exceeding her male counterpart 666 in terms of dangerousness and destructiveness. In Chapter XXX, she was able to overwhelm all the resurrected Emperors of Hell - beings possessing powers to destroy galaxies purely based on their current whims - with little-to-no efforts, even mocking them in the process.

Quotes[edit | edit source]

  • "I have been known and called by many names, child. "Abominable woman", "filthy harlot", "depraved beast"... many men spit such hateful things to me. Now, I wonder... are you too, filled with the same hate, young Lucifer?" - Vali Lucifer.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
