Aten is a side character appearing in Heavenly Dragon Kings Rebirth and is one of the top 10 Strongest Beings in the World who is typically referred to as Sun Disk of the Gods. He plays a major role in reawakening Susanoo, the Shinto Storm God, who was put to sleep by Morning Star using Chronos Trigger and afterwards decides to start a team made up of Shinto and Egyptian Gods/Creatures referred to as Team Storms and Mornings of the Awaken Gods for the Azazel Cup after becoming interested in the Longinus Users of this generation.
Appearance[]
Aten takes the appearance of a young man around 16 years of age with tan skin and wild spiky hair that is three colors: gold, black, and magenta. He is typically seen wearing ancient Egyptian style clothing with a gold broad collar, golden leg braces, shoulder guards in the shape of eagle wings, and a dark blue cape. He also has a form that is the embodiment of the sun, being bright gold in color that burns the eyes of devils, angels, and even dragons when they gaze upon it.
Personality[]
Aten is shown to be a nonchalant God who constantly makes fun of his partner Susanoo for his serious attitude. He explains that in his youth while he was primarily concerned with fighting he lost his will to fight a long time ago due to growing bored, saying most devils, humans, and even other Gods weren't very interesting beings and instead chose to travel to the past and live as a Egyptian Pharaoh, however after hearing the defeat of Apophis by the Heavenly Dragons he returned and reawakens Susanoo in order to participate in the Rating Game being interested in this generation of Longinus users, saying they're unlike the other generations and something he has never seen before.
Aten is said to have been a battle hungry God in the past of immense power, due to being in the top 10, however he was also possesses a perverted attitude and has a harem both in the past and present made up of Goddesses, Devils, or creatures of other pantheons. Having been born from Ra he states Ra to be more boring and that the two aren't on speaking terms, hinting animosity between the two. Aten was also said to have fought against the Heavenly Dragons in the past. Ichiro after meeting Aten says he's very weird for a god, he is a bit clueless and clumsy at time, to the point where Ichiro questions if he's in the top 10, as he needed Ichiro's help in order to officially register for the Azazel Cup with Susanoo getting more angry at Aten being King.
History[]
Not much is known about Aten's history other than he was the sun disk of Ra that formed into his own being. He was one of the most powerful Gods in the top 10 List but got tired of the era he was living in and therefore used Heh's power over time to send him to the past where he lived as a Egyptian Pharaoh for many years, only returning after hearing Apophis's defeat by the Red Dragon Emperor and the Evil Dragon War along with the Longinus Users, Vali Lucifer, Cao Cao, Saiaorg Bael, and Issei Hyoudou he returned to participate in the Azazel Cup, surprised that the Longinus users have finally become more interesting.
Powers and Abilities[]
Immense Strength: Aten, due to being one of the top 10 strongest beings in the world was noted to have immense strength. It's unknown how he would fight against the other members of the top 10 but he stated that he left due to growing tired of the former Longinus users of previous Eras hinting at his immense strength.
Sacred Flames Manipulation also known as Divine Fire is his special flames, combined with his divinity as a Sun God. His fire was noted to be even stronger than the Heavenly Dragons themselves, Phenex Flames, or even the flames of the Longinus Incinerate Anthem. His flames were said to possess special light curses that can even affect angels, creatures of light, hinting at their destructive capabilities.
Master Magician: Aten is noted to be a master magician that excels in Egyptian style magic, able to create solar flares. He was capable of awakening Susanoo from the Chronos Trigger's effect with incredible ease and was capable of finding and communicating with Azazel from the Isolation Barrier Field to question him about the Heavenly Dragons.
Embodiment of the Sun: As the God who embodies the Solar Disk of the Sun, Aten is noted to be powerful enough to summon rays of solar light or sun from his hands that are extremely fatal to devils and could even cut down angels. His light is said to be unlike anything any angel could even possibly create with their light manipulation. He can also release sun light from the ground that resembles the roots of trees that will burn anything it touches to ashes. Aten also is said to be able to turn into a form of the sun itself, his entire body turning a bright golden color, that can severly burn devils and even dragons. Similar to angels he can also manipulate sunlight into constructs as he desires, and when he turns his entire body into sunlight he can shape and manipulate his body at will, turning into a Giant Serpent, boat, or even producing blades from his hands.
Equipment[]
Yata no Kagami: A special shield that Aten received from the Shinto Sun God Amaterasu after awakening Susanoo From sleep. The shield is said to work like a mirror and be capable of reflecting any type of attack back at it's user. The shield can even reflect physical damage, causing the person to feel the damage they try to hit the shield with, by combining the special mirror shield with his Sun God physiology, as the Embodiment of the Sun, he is capable of adding solar damage to the reflection or even burning the eyes of those who look into the mirror, saying it's a very dangerous weapon in his hands.
Trivia[]
- I was originally going to make Aten and Susanoo rivals/enemies but thought it would be more fun to write a dysfunctional alliance between the two, both being excited to test out the power of the next Generation Longinus Users.
- Despite winning battles during their matches due to their power during the preliminary battles of the Rating Games, they lose most of their matches, due to the fact that they don't care about the objectives of the Rating Game, instead being focused only on fighting however they accumulate enough points during their victories.
- Aten's appearance is based on Atem/Yami Yugi from the Yugioh Series.
